There’s a spider in my sink!
Did he drop in from the brink?
Does he want a little drink?
There’s a spider in my sink!

Little spider with no light
Must have worked all through the night,
Spinning threads with all his might
‘Til his web was finally right.

Now there’s web between the handles;
And from faucet onto candles,
Stretched like straps on leather sandals;
Sticky traps to catch bug vandals.

Yes, his webs are fine as lace.
But with a spider in my space,
How am I to wash my face
Or Comb each hair into its place?

Oops! He’s climbing down the chain!
Brush my teeth? I must refrain
Or the splash will be like rain,
Washing spider down the drain.

Tell me, Mom, what should we do?
Can we make this spider shoo?
Should we leave him in the loo?
Tell me, Mom. I need a clue.

"Since he helps us quite a lot—
Eats mosquitoes that he’s caught
Wrapped within his webby knot,
We’ll find him another spot."

OK, Mom. Let’s catch him soon—
I need my sink. It’s almost noon.
Hurry! Scoop him with a spoon,
While we sing a Spider tune.

Little spider, now you’re free,
Outside in a bush or tree,
To spin your webs for all to see
And leave my sink once more to me.

This book contains dozens of factoids and
