I Don't Think So!
Written By Jennifer Reynolds
What do you see in a
tide pool,
When you go to the beach one day?
Will you see the Hermit Crabs,
Leaving their shells to play?
I don’t think so!
Will the Sea Anemones wave
Their long tentacles to and fro?
And shake each other’s hands,
Then get off their rocks and go?
I don’t think so!
Will the Drill Snail take its drill;
Plug into the electric eel,
And drill the big shark’s tooth
To see how he will feel?
I don’t think so!
Will the clam keep using its foot,
To dig deeper into the sand?
Until it digs so deep
It’s in another land.
I don’t think so!
If I find a real Sand Dollar,
Could I spend it at the store?
And buy a million things,
Possibly even more?
I don’t think so!
And in that tiny tide pool,
Will an octopus be there?
Writing with his black ink,
While sitting in a chair?
I don’t think so!
Will there be lots of Sea Stars
Twinkling in the bright night sky,
And a yellow Moon Jelly
Just shining way up high?
I don’t think so!
What can you see in a tide pool
During the low ocean tide?
Many creatures live there.
But most of them try to hide.
Yes, I really think so!
