How to Brush Your Teeth!

Smile! Look at the rows of your pearly white teeth. Wouldn’t it be great to keep your teeth healthy and clean for the rest of your life? Brushing and flossing twice a day is important, although it can be a chore. Here are some basic steps to having the brightest and healthiest teeth around!

1. Set a timer for two minutes. You should spend this long brushing your teeth.

2. Put toothpaste on your toothbrush.

3. Put toothbrush on your teeth and use short, gentle strokes.

4. Go over each tooth cleaning the outer surfaces of your upper teeth. Then do the same for the lower teeth.

5. Clean the inner surfaces of your upper and lower teeth too.

6. Tilt the brush and make sure you clean near your gum line (where the teeth meet the gum). Use a sweeping motion, but be gentle because you don’t want to hurt your gums.

7. Clean the back teeth, your molars.

8. Brush your tongue!

9. Rinse

10. Floss

Repeat after each meal, but at least two times a day!

Did you know that you should get a new toothbrush about every three months!

Visit the dentist twice a year for a thorough cleaning and checkup!
